Welcome,
I am so pleased that the stepping stones on your journey lead you to Embodied Soul.
My journey in becoming a trauma therapist has been organic and came from a natural desire to live a happier, healthier life, and support my clients in doing the same. It is through my continued self exploration and training that I continue to witness the change that can come when working with the body and nervous system.
Growing up I was surrounded by chronic illness within my family and diagnosed with auto immune at the age of twenty. I developed a curiosity around personal growth through psychotherapy. As a clinician, and human, I experienced how the use of mindfulness through sensorimotor psychotherapy creates a safe container for curiosity, exploration, and greater contact with our essential self.
My educational background includes a Master’s of Science in Counseling with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I received this degree in December of 2015 from Prescott College. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina (#11442). I have ten years of post graduate work in the counseling field working with adults. I am currently certified as a Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR (SAFE EMDR) Therapist. I have completed Level Two in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Trauma Themes and Developmental Injury) and am currently pursuing certification in Level Three Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I also have advanced training in SAFE EMDR for Chronic Pain, Emotional Freedom Technique and Spiritual Response Therapy. I am also a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
Looking forward to starting this journey with you!
