Frequently Asked Questions
I'm nervous, what can I expect in my first session?
It is completely normal to feel nervous coming into your first session. The start to therapy is all about feeling comfortable, so we can start slow and get to know each other. Typically in the first session we will gather information about what brings you in for therapy now, some history gathering, and discuss treatment moving forward. The process will be collaborative and whatever pace feels safest for you. Come as you are!
How do I schedule an appointment?
Please email me at info@embodiedsouldurham.com or email or text me at 804-467-1739. If I do not answer during typical work hours I am most likely in session and will respond within 24-48 hours Monday-Friday. Voicemails can take longer to follow up on due to being a small business, without admin staff, please email or text if urgent.
Are you accepting new clients?
I currently do not have any openings and have a waitlist, which I would be happy to add you to! The wait is hard to predict but has been around 11-12 months.
Do you offer phone consultations?
I offer 10-15 minute phone consults for clients who are interested in services, have questions, or would like to determine clinical fit.
What is your cost per session?
Fees are consistent with other professionals in the area. Please email/call for more information about fees.
